Aside from the many enriched diving and snorkeling sites, dry land in Barbados offers many adventures of its own. Visit the Barbados Wildlife Reserve to explore a stunning mahogany forest site that is home to green monkeys and other Barbadian species. Animal Flower Cave is a rare ocean cave with a breathtaking coral floor, natural rock pools, and more! There are many annual festivals, but the biggest, and most colorful thing to do in Barbados is Crop Over. Visit the island from June to the beginning of August to experience this harvest festival. The finale, The Grand Kadooment, on the first Monday in August, follows a route a short cab trip from our apartments!
Learn about the long history of the oldest rum in the world, which has been produced since 1703. During your guided tour, you’ll get to taste several different kinds of Mount Gay Rum. It’s a perfect destination for rainy days and boozy history!
A fresh fruit and vegetable market on Cheapside Road, and one of the best in the Caribbean. Buy fresh, homegrown coconuts and have them cracked open right in front of you. Stock up on fresh, delicious food to whip something delicious up back in your apartment!
Go on a trip to the famous Harrison’s Cave to adventure through an underground limestone cavern. Travel by tram to see the streams and pools carved into stunning rock formations.

The nearby Garrison Savannah is the home of horse racing in Barbados, where you can watch, and bet on, a race! Learn about the island’s history at the Barbados Museum, which houses over 500,000 artifacts.
